What Happens in Vegas…

Defero was out in force at the Global Gaming Expo in November at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Eight Deferoans attended the convention to support and develop our niche in the gaming vertical. Defero recognizes the importance of staying in-the-know in this crucial vertical. G2E, “the premier gaming trade show in Commercial and Native,” with over 750 exhibitors is one of the largest gaming conventions in the world.

Teeing Off for Teen Lifeline

Defero’s Executive Director of Solutions Architecture, Andy Parnell, co-chaired the 2008 Firetag Invitational on December 5th. Andy created this annual event three years ago to benefit Teen Lifeline, whose mission is “To provide a safe, confidential and crucial crisis service where teens help teens make healthy decisions.” The event was dedicated to the memory of Jules Firetag, the first president of Teen Lifeline’s board and advocate to those in need. The event successfully raised more than $15,000 and has contributed more than $50,000 in its three-year run. Defero encourages its employees to donate their time and money to local nonprofits and is proud to support Teen Lifeline.

Planting the Seed with 7 Cedars

Defero continues to make their mark on the casino industry, this time through a partnership with 7 Cedars Casino. The western Washington casino is working with Defero to revamp their website to include a content management system featuring everything from an interactive calendar and Flash elements to Players Club integration. 7cedarscasino.com is scheduled to launch in early 2009.

Collaboration for a Cause

Defero is partnering up with Knoodle, another Phoenix-based agency to launch a new Web site for the Arizona Kidney Foundation (AKF). The new Web property will serve as an interactive information portal and will assist AKF (an affiliate of the National Kidney Foundation) in their continuing efforts to provide financial assistance to Arizona’s chronic kidney disease patients and their families. Defero is excited to work alongside Knoodle to bring this site to life for a worthwhile local non-profit. The new site will launch in mid-November at AZkidney.org and knowyourGFR.org.

More Success with Atronic

Defero furthers their marcomm relationship with Atronic Americas by launching an extremely efficient, custom-built “Print-On-Demand” system. The gaming giant will utilize this web-to-print platform for ordering game slicks, promotional materials, and other collateral print needs through Defero’s centralized system. Global branches, remote offices, sales locations, and even individual associates will have their orders printed and fulfilled at breathtaking speeds, and all will track to central accounting.

Mixing it up with Cold Stone Creamery

As part of a new parternship with Kahala, Defero is happy to announce the launch of iMix America, a Cold Stone Creamery National Campaign focusing on the use of social and viral techniques in the QSR (Quick Serve Restaurant) marketing arena. iMix America pairs high school contestants with local Cold Stone stores, creating a national competition. Consumers can get an iMix code after purchasing a Cold Stone creation and vote for contestants and their personalized creations online. Votes are streaming in and the winner of the ’sweet’ grand prize valued up to $30,000 will be announced January 1, 2009.

Terrible Talk

On July 31st Defero President Mickey Lucas was invited to speak on the subject of digital media and its role in today’s marketing schema at Herbstfest in Primm, NV. Herbstfest is a quarterly gathering of marketing and senior management from Terrible’s Gaming properties around the country to share ideas and vision for future planning. Mickey spoke to 40 managers and directors. Defero is poised to assist Terrible’s corporate in their digital efforts moving forward.

Collaboration-o-Rama

Through a collaborative partnership with Marshall Fenn, Defero has been awarded a web services agreement to overhaul Casino Rama’s website, one of the largest Casinos in Canada. The project will encompass a wide variety of features and Web 2.0 tools. Working with Casino Rama helps bolster Defero’s burgeoning business with the casino operator vertical.

Defero President Spreads Digital Knowledge

The Northwest Indian Gaming Association invited Defero President Mickey Lucas to sit on an expert panel discussion on ‘E-Marketing Solutions’ at the Northwest Indian Gaming Conference in Shelton, WA.  This expert panel offered various digital solutions to over 50 marketing professionals from 25 different Indian gaming properties in Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona.

Defero continues its efforts to support local nonprofits.  PartnerUp Arizona™ reached out to Defero for the creation of its new Web site.  It is the first and only affiliate to have its own Web site in the Partnership for a Drug-Free America national organization.  The dedicated Web site will offer visitors one-click charitable access, expediting the process of donating to a worthy cause.  Defero is extremely proud to discount its resources for a cause that affects the community so profoundly.

Bullies Beware

Live from New York it’s Monday night!  Defero ventured to the Big Apple to donate Webcasting and video expertise at the International Cyber-bullying conference.  Defero was live, Webcasting the keynote speakers and taping much of the breakout sessions.  Using the InterCast Interactive Interface allowed Defero to accept questions from a cyber audience.  Microsoft and Verizon helped promote the cutting-edge event, and the Today Show was onsite to cover the conference.

Welcome to the Pack!

Defero is pleased to welcome two new marketing services interns, Melissa Berglund and Elizabeth Coppinger.  Elizabeth and Melissa are currently juniors in the highly esteemed Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona.  Melissa’s background in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign will undoubtedly be a tremendous asset as we move forward, while Elizabeth brings creative-writing experience to Defero.  We can’t wait to see what they can do!

FoalCam Goes Global

The Midwest Training Center is the largest Arabian breeding operation in the world and the busiest importer and exporter of Arabian horses in the United States. Defero and Midwest installed a sophisticated Web camera system in its foaling stalls to allow their staff to monitor the mares and to give clients access to the live foal births. Midwest consulted with Defero to make the Midwest foal camera a live feed for the public, providing technological expertise while granting global access.

The “greatest show on grass” has come and gone with yet another record-breaking attendance for the 2008 FBR Open. Defero produces their annual client appreciation extravaganza on the famed 16th hole, bringing in clientele and ecosystem partners from all over the country to share our warm and sunny environment while watching the infamous fans at the 16th carve up the PGA’s best with ruthless boos for those not finding the green. Chrysler Webcasts Continue

Our recognized subsidiary, PrCast.tv, launched a Chrysler press conference via an advanced newscast application to connect Chrysler’s customers, partners, and employees during the North American International Auto Show. This customized environment bridges the divide between those customers and important ecosystem members who are present for the press conference and those who cannot physically attend. With the expertise of PrCast.tv’s Director of iBroadcast Operations, Ski Romagnoli, Chrysler successfully unveiled a new breed of performance automobile known as Dodge ZEO.
