Education: BS in Marketing, Advertising or related field, and Five (5)+ years experience in Google paid media. Preferably with agency experience and focused on performance.

As a Senior Paid Search Specialist at Defero, you’ll develop media strategies and campaigns for clients within the Google suite of tools. You’ll have hands on dials and live deep in-platform to manage and optimize media spends for a wide variety of clients. In this position, you should have a clear understanding of the specific capabilities within Google Ads and how GA4 can be used for tracking, audience building, and other connection capabilities. Use of GTM with full knowledge of setting, and troubleshooting, tracking is a must.

Beyond our paid search efforts, Defero offers a full surround of performance media opportunities for our clients. Our campaigns range from paid search, paid social, online native, programmatic (display/CTV/etc) and range from small to large advertising budgets. We also manage organic search, email and SEO strategies for our clients, as applicable. You’ll be charged with running search, but having full surround knowledge of other campaigns and platforms will help in the effectiveness of our efforts for our clients.

As a Senior Paid Search Specialist at Defero you will be charged with tracking changes to the changing landscape within the Google suite and effectively communicate both opportunities and challenges to our internal teams and our clients.

Additionally, you will work to expand your own personal knowledge of needed platform(s) and earn identified certifications to more fully develop your own expertise and grow as a marketing professional.

You’re a digital media rockstar. You can act as an analyst by leveraging tools like Google Analytics to not only track and report on client KPIs but to elevate their strategies. While focused on paid search, you consider yourself a holistic digital marketing thinker and you understand the importance and roles of the following: email marketing, conversion rate optimization, creative, web development, etc. And importantly, you’re a solid communicator with internal staff setting clear expectations and with clients explaining the ‘why.’

ROLE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Maintains a high level of expertise across the Google suite of services, specifically withing Google Ads, GA4 & GTM.
  • Possesses the ability to understand and look at client goals and needs and to work with the full team to determine the suggested course of actions for campaigns given budgets and other implicative factors.
  • In-depth experience and capability to build out campaigns in platform and determine optimizations based on client goals.
  • Experience running conversion-based campaigns (ecomm, registrations, etc).
  • Experience in GA4 and with GTM with understanding on full campaign tracking and cross domain attribution.
  • Produce high quality deliverables and analyses that wow our clients and always show the how, the why, and the what we are doing to continuously improve our results.
  • Participate in client meetings to gather account requirements, share performance updates and strategize on opportunities
  • Review monthly client performance reports recapping key insights and next steps.
  • Assist with mapping media budgets and reflighting of media dollars as needed to achieve client business goals and future strategic plans.
  • Utilizes industry tools to build efficiencies into your work to help keep you focused on business outcomes, and constantly on the lookout for new strategic opportunities.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge of the standard KPIs and industry benchmarks for paid search across industries and Defero’s client base.
  • Examines the details while not losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Experience and comfortable with client facing reporting.
  • Practices critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Digests, retains and shares the latest industry news and applies it to client projects as applicable.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5)+ years experience in Google’s suite of tools (Google Ads, GA4, GTM, Search Console, Business Profile, etc).
  • Past agency experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of paid digital media in general.
  • Strong working knowledge of analytics and tracking (using GA4 & GTM, pixel setup and management, etc )
